There is political space for the European Union to adopt a common approach on how to tackle the effect of soaring energy prices, European Council President Charles Michel said on Wednesday, APA reports citing Reuters.
"It is a national question but there is a political space ... for a European approach on this issue," Michel told a news conference.
Michel added the issue would be high on the agenda of the next EU summit scheduled for Oct 21-22. European electricity and gas prices have rocketed this year as tight gas supplies have collided with strong demand in economies recovering from the COVID-19 pandemic.
