Energy ministers of the Group of Seven (G7) countries condemned Russia's recent attacks on Ukraine's energy infrastructure and expressed their readiness to assist Kyiv in restoring its energy system, APA reports.
The Canadian G7 presidency issued an official statement on this.
The statement emphasizes that Russia's war against Ukraine seriously affects the country's energy security and poses a real threat to the civilian population. The G7 ministers reaffirmed their "unwavering support" for Ukraine's territorial integrity, freedom, sovereignty and independence.
"We express our joint support for Ukraine and its people, who are showing courage and resilience despite ongoing difficulties," the statement said.
In the statement, the G7 announced that it would work to meet the energy needs of both Ukraine's economy and its citizens.
