France is considering the possibility of opening an embassy in the West Bank after recognizing a Palestinian state in September and a Palestinian embassy would be open in France, French President Emmanuel Macron's advisor Ofer Bronchtein told Israel's Channel 12 on Thursday, APA reports, citing breakingthenews.net.
Bronchtein noted that a French embassy would be located in Ramallah, which currently serves as the administrative capital of Palestine. He also insisted that the establishment of a Palestinian state is in Israel's interest, ensuring that the October 7 attack would not have happened if a Palestinian state had been globally recognized.
In late July, Macron announced that France intends to recognize a Palestinian state at the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) in September.
