Deputies from the Georgian opposition party "Gakharia for Georgia" have formed a faction in parliament, APA's local bureau reports.
The Procedural Issues Committee of the legislative body has officially registered the faction.
Committee Chairman Davit Matikashvili stated that the “For Georgia” faction will consist of 10 deputies and will be headed by Shalva Kereselidze.
Note that the "Gakharia for Georgia" party was founded in May 2021 by former Prime Minister Giorgi Gakharia. He has been in Germany since June of this year and has received a residence permit in this country.
The party won 12 parliamentary mandates in last year's parliamentary elections. The political union refused to represent the legislature because it did not recognize the election results. The political organization ended the boycott last week and its elected members began working in parliament today. One of them, Rusudan Tevzadze, a member of the party's political council, refused his parliamentary mandate the other day and resigned from the party.
