Inflation in the Eurozone reached 9.1% on a yearly basis in August, Eurostat said in its flash estimate on Wednesday, APA reports citing Tele Trader.
Expert projections put the figure at 9%. The harmonized index of consumer prices (HICP) excluding energy and unprocessed food was up by 5.5%, while the HICP excluding energy increased by 5.8%.
The report stated that energy grew at the highest annual rate in August at 38.3%, down from 39.6% in July. Food, alcohol and tobacco rose 10.6%, up from 9.8% in July, non-energy industrial goods added 5% compared to 4.5% in July, while services gained 3.8%, 0.1 percentage points higher than in July.
