The member states of the European Union (EU) are discussing the issue of sending peacekeepers to Ukraine after the cessation of hostilities, but there is no talk of uniting the military under the flag of the North Atlantic Alliance (NATO), APA reports citing Pravda.
According to the publication, such a decision would require the consent of all members of the Alliance. In addition, this step may become an unacceptable option for Russia.
It is noted that a number of EU member states may send their military as a "deterrent" for Russia in the future. At the same time, the issue of possible deployment of peacekeepers is being considered as one of the options for providing security guarantees to Ukraine until it becomes a member of NATO.
