Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has presented the “Atatürk International Peace Prize” to UN Secretary-General António Guterres, APA’s Türkiye bureau reports.
UN Secretary-General António Guterres, who is on an official visit to Türkiye, held a one-on-one meeting with President Erdoğan. The award was presented to him during a ceremony held after the meeting.
Speaking at the ceremony, the Turkish president thanked Guterres for his services.
“Thanks to his efforts, many humanitarian problems have been resolved. I thank all UN employees who serve selflessly for peace,” Erdoğan said.
