At least three people died Saturday night in a fire at a nursing home in Reutlingen, in the southwestern German state of Baden Württemberg, APA reports citing the local press.
A police spokesman said there were also two seriously injured and several slightly injured, he told the DPA news agency.
Firefighters are still working at the scene, although the fire has already been extinguished. The cause of the fire is under investigation, the spokesman said.
The residence in question specializes in elderly people with mental illnesses requiring nursing care, according to the description on the company’s website, which notes that 38 residents live there.
