50 killed, tens injured in plane crash in Spain

Madrid – APA. At least 50 people were killed and 40 were injured after the Spanair plane swerved off the runway at Madrid’s airport. APA reports that Spanish government said there were 163 people on board. There were reports of a fire in the left engine during take-off. Spanish El Mundo newspaper writes that the death toll may surpass 100. The newspaper writes that only 21 passengers have been evacuated, all are in critical condition.
