Turkish Army arrests AKP municipality chief

APA quotes the Turkish news agencies as saying that 38 persons, including the municipality chief were arrested during the operations held by 400 gendarmes on Friday. The arrests were instructed by the Izmir Prosecutorâ€™s Office, which accused Karagulmez in corruption, bribe, weapon smuggling, illegal tender actions and abuse its power. Files and other documents related to the municipal tenders were confiscated by the gendarmes. Searches were conducted in his house.
