Baku – APA. An Italian demolitions team blew up a 500-pound (227-kg) World War Two aerial bomb Wednesday, partially closing Milan’s Linate airport, APA reports quoting “Reuters”.
Arrival flights were blocked for several hours Wednesday but operations have now returned to normal, an airport spokeswoman said.
The bomb was found during construction work near Linate, east of Milan.
Nearby residents were evacuated from their homes and train traffic on a line close to the bomb site was halted. Another 500-pound wartime bomb was also blown up near Linate on August 8.
