Upon Swedish parliament’s approval, by a vote of 131-130, the resolution on made-up “Armenian genocide”, Swedish Prime Minister Fredrik Reinfeldt reportedly called his Turkish counterpart, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, and said he had been upset by the vote that could affect relationships between Turkey and Sweden, APA reports quoting haberler.com web-page.

In addition, Swedish PM Fredrik Reinfeldt said that he disagreed with the resolution. Reinfeldt told Erdogan Sweden would continue to back Turkey’s EU bid.

Reinfeldt’s phone call to Erdogan caused for the outrage of Svend Erik Österberg who represents Social Democratic Party of Sweden.

“Reinfeldt’s apology to Erdogan contradicts both to the decision of the parliament and Swedish laws. Prime Minister’s behavior means that the government acts against people’s decision. For this purpose, we have already sued Fredrik Reinfeldt”, - Svend Erik Österberg said.
