Baku - APA-Economics. "Azerbaijan cannot meet Georgia’s demand for gas”, Vice Prime Minister of Georgia and Energy Minister Kakha Kaladze said, APA-Economics reports quoting Georgia Online portal.

“I put off opinions of several politicians after my meeting with the head of Gazprom. Why don’t extra gas reserves exist? This question should be asked Azerbaijani side. Then I ask you: Why does Azerbaijan sign an agreement with Gazprom, while it has enough gas reserves to meet domestic need?”, he said.

According to Kaladze, if Gazprom offers suitable price, we’ll realize this project.

“Current agreement with Gazprom was signed in 2003. Since that time, 21 annexes have been made to the agreement. The agreement is valid for a long time. The persons who speak much about that subject have enough information about this. The talks and meetings within the agreement were also held in the period of Saakashvili’s regime. Even, Georgia purchased gas from Russia except transit gas after war with Russia. For some reason, these facts are forgotten and no one speak about this. Even the political morality has a certain limit. It’s clear that the some politicians and parties draw attention because of upcoming elections”, Kaladze added.
