Iran and Oman have agreed on a safe route for ships passing through the Strait of Hormuz over the past three weeks of talks, Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmail Baghaei said Saturday, Iran International reports.
Baghaei said discussions with Muscat were continuing on other issues, but the arrangement for safe shipping was separate.
He added that full security in the strait could not be restored while US maritime sanctions, military movements and a naval blockade remain in place.
