European Union membership is not a priority for Ankara; Europe itself would lose if the republic were not admitted, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan said in an interview with Qatar's Al Jazeera, APA reports.
"Joining the European Union is not our priority, and Europe will be the loser if Türkiye does not join," the Turkish leader said.
According to him, European countries are not demonstrating a willingness to integrate the republic. "Europe, apparently, is unwilling to include Türkiye in the European Union," Erdoğan added.
