“Greek government made amendments to legislation with the initiative of energy minister in July. This had negative impact on DESFA tariffs. We think DESFA value declined 40-50%. If these conditions remain unchanged, we are not so interested in DESFA on these conditions. We made proposal to Greek government on reaching a compromise and are waiting for respond for our proposal. If Greek government is interested in completion of this privatization, they will make any proposals”, he said.
Mammadov said Azerbaijan is interested in DESFA privatization: “However, the process must be meaningful and logical in terms of commerce. We intend to invest in Greece. However, SOCAR may leave this project. We have other projects in Greece and they will proceed. TAP is very important for us”.
