"The Middle Corridor plays an important role not only for Azerbaijan but also for European countries. I think its impact spreads across the entire world," said Romania’s Minister of Energy, Sebastian-Ioan Burduja, APA-Economics reports.

He also mentioned that the Green Corridor is a very ambitious project. It will be the world’s longest underwater cable – 1,100 kilometers long and likely worth more than 10 billion euros.

"We are currently close to completing the research on this. After that, we need to secure financing. We hope that the European Union grants will cover a large part of the project, and we will be able to implement it. This will increase energy security for both parties, enabling us to obtain cheaper and cleaner energy. This is truly a gain for everyone," the Romanian minister added.
