A final investment decision will be made in the middle of this year for the "Shah Deniz Compression" project (construction of a compression platform in the "Shah Deniz" field), said Matt Kirkham, bp’s vice president projects, AGT, Middle East and North Africa, during his speech at the 11th meeting of the Southern Gas Corridor Advisory Council and the 3rd meeting of the Green Energy Advisory Council, APA reports.
According to him, construction is planned to begin next year, and the platform is expected to be commissioned in 2029.
"All of these efforts will help to extend the highest stable production period in the Shah Deniz field into the years beyond this decade," Matt Kirkham stated.
He added that the platform is designed to be operated remotely without a permanent crew and will run entirely on electricity. In the future, this platform will also contribute to supplying electricity to Shah Deniz Bravo.
"Finally, it will facilitate the transition of operations on the field to electricity altogether. The project is currently in the Determination Phase," bp's representative emphasized.
