"Our goal is to increase the total export capacity to Europe to approximately 14 million cubic meters per year starting from 2026," said Matt Kirkham, bp’s vice president projects, AGT, Middle East and North Africa, during his speech at the 11th meeting of the Southern Gas Corridor Advisory Council and the 3rd meeting of the Green Energy Advisory Council, APA reports.

He noted that the Shah Deniz field continues to produce gas safely and efficiently, supporting Azerbaijan's commitment to European and regional markets: "Last year, Shah Deniz surpassed its highest stable production level, producing approximately 28 billion cubic meters of gas. This achievement is based on nearly 100% field, well, and export reliability."

He mentioned that Shah Deniz currently has a production and processing capacity of approximately 79 million standard cubic meters of gas per day. Operators of the Southern Gas Corridor have been working together to increase daily export volumes to Europe, reaching approximately 12 billion cubic meters per year. This capacity is still in effect and is frequently used.

"At the same time, we are continuing work on the phased expansion of the TAP pipeline. We are also working to enhance the technical safety, operational efficiency, and sustainability of Shah Deniz," BP's representative concluded.
