Azerbaijan posts 34% fall in industrial production for January-February

Baku. Rashad Suleymanov â€“ APA-Economics. Azerbaijanâ€™s industrial production stood at AZN 2 670.7 million for January-February, down 34.3% on a year ago, said the countryâ€™s top body.
The State Statistical Committee said there was a 2.6% drop in extractive industry, which accounts for 61.1% of industrial output.
The decline was 3.4% in processing industry and 0.2% in distribution of electricity, gas and water.
Goods accounted for 88.5% of the industrial output, leaving 11.5% to industrial services.
The share of the private sector in the industrial production was 73.6%.
