Baku. Viktoria Dementieva – APA. The project on the technical and economic feasibility of Odessa-Brodi oil pipeline will be signed at the meeting of Sarmatia joint venture in Poland on April 24, Ukrainian president’s special representatives on international energy security Bogdan Sokolovski said, APA reports. He said that after the signing ceremony the stage of practical realization of the project will start.
“The results of the technical and economic feasibility showed that this project is attractive and profitable in three directions - by passing through Poland in the north, through Slovakia in the west and through Czechia and Austria in the east. The most real direction is Slovakia. It does not require much investment to transport 5-7 million tones of oil in this direction in the next few years. Moreover, 4-5 million tones of oil will remain for Ukraine. Actually, the question is first of all Europe-Asia oil transport corridor,†he said.
Bogdan Sokolovski said the second part of the project requires much investment.
“In the second part the direction will be to the north, Poland, Plotsk-Gdansk. Investment is required and in the second phase it will be possible to increase the annual volume of oil transportations to 20 million tones. The third part of the project will make it available to increase the annual volume of oil transportations to 40 million tones,†he said.
