Deputy chairman of Musavat Party Gulagha Aslanli told APA that Rustam Ibrahimbeyov has sent a letter to members of the National Council regarding his resignation.

He said that Musavat Party endorsed Ibrahimbeyov’s decision.

In his address, Rustam Ibrahimbeyov said that the disagreements between the democratic opposition parties emerged after the presidential elections distract public attention from the main problems of the country: “Critics of the National Council achieving their some purposes reduce the historical significance of this large coalition of democratic forces broken up due to mutual accusations for 20 years. Realizing all this and taking into account the fact that the discussions held by the Musavat Party leadership on my election as honorary chairman of the National Council is a part of the overall campaign against the National Council, it is my duty to resign from my post.”
