Baku – APA. Deputy chairman of Azerbaijan Caspian Sea Shipping CSC Mubariz Medetov has been dismissed.
APA reports quoting private sources that Azerbaijan’s President Ilham Aliyev has signed the relevant order.
According to the source, Azerbaijan’s President dismissed Medetov as he committed actions unbecoming to an official, failed to observe ethics, his son violated rules in a public place, disrespected the laws.
Mubariz Medetov had been chief of Caspian Sea Oil Fleet, was later appointed as deputy chairman of Azerbaijan Caspian Sea Shipping CSC established after the Caspian Sea Shipping and Caspian Sea Oil Fleet of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan were abolished.
VAZ-2106 driven by Abdullayev Vugar Agaselim collided with Mercedes-Benz G-55 driven by Mubariz Medetov’s son Khalid Medetov in Surakhany district at 00:30 on March 15.
VAZ-2106 passengers – Brilliant Abdullayeva, 55, and Agaselim Abdullayev, 6, died on the spot. People’s artist Agaselim Abdullayev, 64, and Seadet Abdullayeva, 30, were hospitalized with injuries.
Surakhany district police office launched criminal case on the fact on article 263.3 (causing death of two or more persons as a result of the violation of traffic rules) of the Criminal Code, relevant examinations were appointed and measures taken.
As there were grounded suspicions that the traffic accident was committed by the driver of Mercedes-Benz G-55 Khalid Medetov, he was detained.
As medical examination revealed that Khalid Medetov was drunken while driving, the article was changed to 263.1.4 (violation of traffic rules being drunken causing the death of two or more persons).
