Official event held in front of Istiglal monument, Baku on 130th anniversary of Mahammed Amin Rasulzade

APA reports that Minister of Culture and Tourism Abulfaz Garayev, President of Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences Akif Alizadeh, Chairman of Press Council Aflatun Amashov and representatives of state agencies attended the event.

Delivering a keynote speech at the event, Minister of Culture and Tourism Abulfaz Garayev said that Rasulzade, one of the founders of ADR, is a figure who developed the idea of independence of Azerbaijan and promoted it among the people.

ANAS President Akif Alizadeh said that Rasulzade had great services in the formation and existence of national statehood consciousness in Azerbaijan.

Chairman of Press Council Aflatun Amashov said that Rasulzade is one of the great personalities of Azerbaijan: “He was also a great scholar, public figure, literary critic, historian and journalist. About 30 press agencies published more than 1200 articles by Rasulzade. The memory of Rasulzade will always live in our hearts as long as the Azerbaijani state and people are alive.”
