President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev made the remarks on Monday at the meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers on the results of the country’s socio-economic development in the first half of 2015 and the objectives for the future.
The head of state gave instructions to improve gas, water and electricity supply for the districts, noting that funds would be allocated for implementation of these projects.
President Aliyev said reclamation measures are being taken, and industrialization process is successfully going on in the country.
The head of state also gave necessary instructions on finding new export markets, production of competitive products, creation of new jobs and spoke about the works done for the development of non-oil sector, entrepreneurship, provision of tax receipts, prevention of illegal cases in this field and improvement of living conditions of internally displaced persons.
The price of medicines will soon be regulated and transparency will be ensured in this field, the president said.
The president went on to added that extra 200 million manat will be allocated from the state budget regarding mortgage lending.
President Aliyev said the environmental situation in the capital is gradually improving, the process of cleaning up Lake Boyuk Shor is underway, and the flow of tourists to the country has increased more after the first European Games.
The president also stressed the importance of accelerating the visa issuance process and lowering the prices of air tickets and hotels. “Holding of the first European Games was a historic event. The Games were held at the Olympics level. And it showed the potential and power of our country. Winning a total of 56 medals, including 21 gold medals, our athletes once again proved that Azerbaijan is a sport country. The first European Games became the triumph of our people and state.”
