She called on those who are criticizing the elections in Azerbaijan to be objective: “Azerbaijan is not Finland. Every country has its own history and tradition. With these elections Azerbaijan has shown its commitment to the goals of integration into Europe.”
Ojuland noted that she observed the elections in Azerbaijan for the third time: “Compared to the previous elections, great progress, especially in ICT sphere has been observed in the recent elections.”
The MEP stressed that she plans to visit Azerbaijan during the next elections: “The election is an important step towards democracy.”
