APA’s Turkey correspondent reports that Mustafa Kemal Ataturk, Mahammed Amin Rasulzade and Heydar Aliyev were commemorated with a minute of silence at the event organized by Association of Azerbaijan Culture founded by Rasulzade on February 2, 1949 and Azerbaijani Embassy in Ankara.
Delivering a speech at the event, Deputy Minister of Minister of Culture and Tourism of Azerbaijan Vagif Aliyev said that Rasulzade died at the age of 71: “We are paying tribute to him after 59 years. On November 13, 2013 Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev signed an order to perpetuate the memory of Rasulzade and mark his 130th anniversary. Mahammed Amin Rasulzade living in the heart of people for 59 years will live forever in the hearts of the Turks.”
Vagif Aliyev expressed gratitude to Turkey for always commemorating Rasulzade.
Secretary General of Association of Azerbaijan Culture Tuncer Kirhan expressed gratitude to President Ilham Aliyev, who signed an order to mark the 130th anniversary of Rasulzade. Following the event, MP Sabir Rustamkhanli told APA that Mahammed Amin Rasulzade is one of the splendid political leaders of Azerbaijani history.
“He was an ideologist and managed to found the state, which ideology he had worked out. Events are held to pay tribute to Rasulzade on the occasion of his 130th anniversary. Today's event is a historical event. I am grateful to Azerbaijan's President Ilham Aliyev, who signed an order to mark Rasulzade's 130th anniversary, and Turkish state, which embraced him when he was alive and respects his grave," he said.
