FranÃ§ois Hollande: â€œIt is important to find a real solution to the Karabakh conflictâ€

Baku – APA. “It is important to find a real solution to the Karabakh conflict,” French President François Hollande said at the joint press conference with his Armenian counterpart Serzh Sargsyan, APA reports quoting Armenia Today.

Hollande said that as a co-chairing country of the OSCE Minsk Group, France is ready to do its best for the resolution of the Karabakh conflict. He recalled that 20 years had passed since the ceasefire agreement was signed and noted that it is not the resolution of the problem: “The conflict is going on and thousands of people were killed. A real solution should be found to the problem. France is ready to receive the Armenian and Azerbaijani Presidents seeking ways to strengthen confidence-building measures.”

Hollande also commented on the speech by Recep Tayyib Erdogan on the events of 1915. He noted that he assessed this issue long ago: “I always try to see the positive aspects, but there can be only one decision - recognition of the genocide.”

Hollande underlined the importance of recognition of the so-called “Armenian genocide”.
