According to the poll, had the presidential elections been held on coming Sunday, the majority (87.3 percent) of respondents would have voted for the current head of state Ilham Aliyev.
Asked if Ilham Aliyev corresponds to the interests of people like them, about 83 percent of the respondents answered in affirmative, 5 percent answered in negative, and 4 percent said “mostly not”. The remaining 8 percent found it hard to give an answer.
The poll also suggested that had the presidential elections been held on coming Sunday, the majority (60 percent) of those who were asked about their opinion would have joined the voting. Another 21 percent chose the answer “I would probably join”. 12% said they wouldn’t participate in the voting. The remaining 7 percent had no answer.
The report has been prepared based on the results of the “ombnibus” public survey conducted June 13 to 15, 2015. A total of 1,500 people above the age of 18 participated in the survey which was conducted in face-to-face interview based on residence. The relative error was 2.7 percent.
