Azerbaijan's ruling party comments on French Presidentâ€™s meeting with a group of politicians, human rights defenders and journalists

Deputy executive secretary of New Azerbaijan Party Siyavush Novruzov told APA that he highly appreciates French President’s visit to Azerbaijan and underlined the importance of starting the visit to South Caucasus from Azerbaijan.

As for Hollande’s meeting with a group of politicians, human rights defenders and journalists during the visit, Novruzov regarded it as an ethical step taken by the French president. “Other issues are out of question. However, opposition members highly appreciate this meeting as if they were supported. In fact, this is just a meeting for the sake of ethics. Because when a president of any European countries and U.S. officials visit other countries they meet with members of all groups, leaders of NGOs and political parties as usual”, he noted.

Musavat Party Chairman Isa Gambar, Azerbaijan Popular Front Party (APFP) chairman Ali Karimli, REAL Majlis Chairman Erkin Gadirli, Director of the Institute for Peace and Democracy Leyla Yunus, Director of Turan Information Agency Mehman Aliyev and Azadliq Radio anchorwoman Khadija Ismayil attended the meeting with Hollande at the French Embassy in Azerbaijan.
