Azerbaijan Democratic Party chairman Sardar Jalaloghlu resigns

The Party’s press service told APA that Chairman of Azerbaijan Democratic Party, nominated from the Party as a presidential candidate appealed to the Executive Board on resigning.

The appeal says: “I consider that the constructive opposition course I personally put forward in 2005 failed as it hadn’t been supported by the state and international community.

I take all the responsibility for the defeat in 2013 elections.

Thus, I decided to resign not to cast a shadow on the struggle of ADP members and supporters.

I ask to consider my resignation in accordance with the charter of the party and make a relevant decision.

First Deputy Chairman of the Party, head of the Executive Board Hasrat Rustamov said that the letter of resignation would be considered at the next meeting of the Board of Directors and the decision would be made.
