Ali Hasanov: â€˜The main expectation of the Azerbaijani state from the youth is a sense of statehood and patriotismâ€™

Baku. Ramiz Mikayiloglu – APA. “The main expectation of the Azerbaijani state from the youth is a sense of statehood and patriotism. Every young people are obliged to assume the responsibility to protect us from foreign prosecutions, threats, and pressures aimed against us. Every youth, regardless of their nationality, religion or race, must have a sense of an idea of Azerbaijanism”, said Ali Hasanov, Head of the Department of Public and Political Issues of the Presidential Administration during his speech at the 4th Reporting-Electing conference of Ireli Public Union.

Ali Hasanov noted that in a complicated socio-political situation, rapid economic downturn, and social crisis back in the early 1990s, an independent state-building process began under Heydar Aliyev’s leadership: “At those times, there were serious external attempts to influence and control Azerbaijan’s domestic and foreign policy. Thanks to the great leader’s foresight, patriotism, and determination, we have managed to neutralize anti-national powers, protect our national statehood, and bring our country to a dynamic development path. It is no secret that today those forces are ignoring the independent political course of our state and making efforts to draw Azerbaijan away progress and rapid development. However, today, Azerbaijan is a powerful, a rapidly developing country which has high international reputation and its position and role in world politics. The participation and speech of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev in the PACE session a few days ago reaffirmed that attempts to influence domestic and external policy of Azerbaijan and control it is useless and all of them will fail. With his global thinking, iron will and logic, independent and analytical reasoning ability, adherence to principles and determination, Mr President once again showed that Azerbaijan is capable of adequately responding to any attempt of pressure or threat.

This is an example for the Azerbaijani youth. The Azerbaijani youth should closely unit around his president, demonstrate national pride and patriotism and be able to give an adequate response to external forces and their vassals trying to harm our statehood”.
