Baku. Konul Kamilgizi – APA. The duration of school year will be prolonged from the next academic year, APA reports.
Deputy Education Minister Jeyhun Bayramov said that the Education Ministry made a proposal in this regard. He said this year the school year will finish as planned.
Bayramov noted that prolonging the academic year is related with education programs, so prolongation will be inappropriate in the middle of the academic year: “According to our analysis, there are 32 academic weeks in Azerbaijan. This is a low figure. This figure is 38 weeks in other countries, 40-42-43 weeks in some of them. Currently the education program is so hard and it hasn’t eased over years. Reducing academic year causes discontent of the parents.”
Deputy Minister said that exact date of prolongation hadn’t been fixed yet.
He said that school year would be prolonged through additional days at the end of academic year.
The school year is expected to be prolonged by 3 weeks.
