Abel Maharramov: â€œMonuments should be erected to the founders of the Azerbaijan Democratic Republicâ€

I’m sure that all government agencies, especially scientific and educational institutions will underline Rasulzadeh’s historical merits and develop a plan of events”, said the rector of Baku State University, MP Abel Maharramov.

He noted that the 130th anniversary of the great public and political figure, one of the founders of independent Azerbaijan Mahammad Amin Rasulzadeh will be a historical event.

Commenting on the fact that Rasulzadeh’s bust has not been erected at Baku State University, rector said that this issue has always been on agenda: “Different measures will be taken under the order. Place of the Rasulzadeh’s monument will be determined during execution of the order. I think that it is necessary to erect monuments to the founders of ADR in the form of ensemble. This is a historical event and should be realized. They were the first to raise Azerbaijan’s flag of independence”.
