Azerbaijan starts specification of voters' lists

Baku. Ramiz Mikayiloglu – APA. Azerbaijan Republic has started the process of compiling a single voters' list since the beginning of January.

Media and public relations department of CEC secretariat told APA that according to the electoral law, compiling a single voters' list is initially carried out by the Precinct Election Commissions (PECs).

The Precinct Election Commissions are carrying out this process within the period determined by law. According to the requirements of the Election Code, the PECs should submit voters' list on polling stations to relevant Constituency Election Commissions by February 5. The Constituency Election Commissions will hand over preliminary voters’ lists to the Central Election Commission by April 5. The CEC will compile a single voters’ list on the country. This process will be completed by the end of May and the re-compiled single voters’ list will be posted on the website of the CEC.
