Azerbaijani Parliament passes bill on education in second reading

APA reports that the parliamentarians put forward their proposals during the discussion of the bill. MP Gular Ahmadova said there were discontent in connection with tests in Azerbaijan. She said there were a number of problems concerning tests. MP Vahid Ahmadov offered not to impose age limit in education. MP Asef Hajiyev offered to rename State Student Admission Commission as Commission for Knowledge Assessment. MP Elmira Akhundova offered to make report on education in the Parliament.
Rector of Azerbaijan Medical University Ahliman Amiraslanov said he supported the bill and noted that age limit was important in the law. He said lack of age limit impeded improvement of education.
Following this, the bill was put to the vote. 3 voted against and 104 voted for the bill. Speaker Ogtay Asadov said the proposals concerning the bill would be taken into consideration.
