Lala Shovkat: â€œI regret that Musavat practices discrimination in terms of allianceâ€

Baku. Elnur Mammadli â€“ APA. â€œMusavat Party is ready to cooperate with all organizations acting for the democratization of the political situation or being interested in it. We are ready to establish relations leading to deeper cooperation and even to alliance with various political parties, and we see Azerbaijan Popular Front Party among them,â€ Head of Central Executive Board of Musavat Party Arif Hajili told APA.
â€œNo one can choose an ally for us. We are ready for cooperation with all parties, but we will ourselves make decision whether to establish relations with Liberal Party, Citizensâ€™ Development Party or notâ€¦ Inciting us to ally with somebody is beyond political ethics. The view â€˜I will ally with you, on condition that you ally with my alliesâ€™ actually serves to prevent cooperation. This is clear. I regret that the opposite side has such a nonconstructive position,â€ he said.
Arif Hajili said internal and foreign political course, targets of Azerbaijan Popular Front Party and Musavat are close to each other.
â€œI regard Azerbaijan Popular Front Party as one of the real opposition parties. Thatâ€™s why I think that we can ally with Azerbaijan Popular Front Party at least theoretically,â€ he said.
However Hajili didnâ€™t make clear concrete reasons of his disfavor for ALP, CDP and Public Union for Azerbaijan. Chairwoman of Azadlig Block and leader of National Unity Movement Lala Shovkat told APA she and her movement were always supporting the union. She said she took active part in deepening of Opposition Cooperation Center and noted that they made necessary steps for positive final of the process. â€œUnfortunately today Musavat party is against it to my regret and surprise, because it is not purposeful for not only opposition, but whole society to create discrimination in this hard situation. The block discussed this issue and there is no discord. Even Eldar Namazov shows same position with Azadlig blockâ€.
Chairman of Azerbaijan Peopleâ€™s Front Party (AXCP) Ali Karimli told APA that he thanked Musavat party for offering cooperation to AXCP. â€œBut I do not understand why other forces, who have the same political course with AXCP cannot participate in this alliance?â€ Karimli said they offered to the organizations they worked together in pre-and post-election period to deepen relations. He said this proposal was discussed now and Musavat party did not give negative answer. â€œI hope the discussions can be completed successfully. The document discussed now doesnâ€™t consider direct alliance. I consider that we can establish serious coalition to change the political situation in the country and to participate together in future elections, but some of our colleagues say we have not to rush to establish coalition. I accepted this reality already. Therefore we do not focus on the direct alliance. Opposition Cooperation Center needs in deeper cooperation to solve some problems in the country. If Musavat party does not intend to work within the Opposition Cooperation Center, it will surprise me. I do not want to believe it and I will wait for Musavatâ€™s official positionâ€.
