Joint declaration signed on establishing of Parliamentary Assembly of Turkic-speaking Countries

The declaration was signed by the representatives of Turkey, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan, Consul General of Azerbaijan in Istanbul Sayyad Aran told APA. The declaration was announced open for other Turkic-speaking countries to join it.
The Consul General said composition of the Parliamentary Assembly was not determined yet, but the secretariat to be established would prepare proposals and procedure issues would be confirmed at the next summit. “The Parliamentary Assembly will hold its meetings annually. The next meeting will take place in September, 2009 in Azerbaijan. Many issues will be specified at that meeting”.

Aran said the country, where PA meetings took place, would chair the Assembly. “The main goal of the Istanbul meeting was to announce establishing of Parliamentary Assembly”.
