Baku. Elnur Mammadli–APA. 16th anniversary of the ruling New Azerbaijan Party (YAP) will be celebrated on Friday. All regional and municipal organizations of the party will arrange meetings dedicated to the anniversary of the party’s foundation, YAP Press Officer Huseyn Pashayev told APA. Pashayev said no solemn ceremonies would be held because it was not a jubilee.
YAP foundation congress was held on November 21, 1992 and it is a ruling party in Azerbaijan since 1993. The party has 456 295 members now. 200 thousand of them (44.4%) are the women and 179 thousand (40%) – youth. YAP has 64 seats at the Parliament. The party has 84 regional-municipal and 7519 primary party organizations.
