Azerbaijani President attends the opening ceremony of newly-commissioned administrative building of the Ministry of Emergency Situations
The president was told that the center received reports about emergency situations from various facilities, law-enforcement bodies and dispatcher services of other bodies through 112 within 24 hours.
The president familiarized himself with the working principles of the operation room and e-map of Baku. All settlements, highways, water reservoir, rivers and all strategic facilities of Azerbaijan are shown on the e-map. Fire, warning alarms are for the first time received here. The president was told that the most advanced practice of the world had been used while establishing the center.
Following this, the head of state reviewed the hall of crisis management on the 11th floor of the building. The president was told that the hall was destined for effective management of the forces involved in elimination of critical situation. 16 jobs were created for the ministry’s group chiefs and the representatives of other government agencies. Every representative has a telephone connected with the automated telephone station. Special cameras will be installed here. 8 cameras have already been installed in various places of the city.
Following the report to the president, a direct videoconference was held with several organizations subordinated to the ministry. Dynamics of tactic special training carried out by the rescue groups of the Ministry of Emergency Situation during the prearranged explosion and fire in the high rise building under construction in Yasamal District, as well as special training in Baku Bay were demonstrated.
President Ilham Aliyev highly appreciated the MES activity. The president noted that a great work has been done by the ministry since its establishing and underlined important steps made toward the correct rescue operations and security in Azerbaijan. “Azerbaijani state gives very great attention to this field. The ministry is provided with new modern equipments to guarantee the people’s security, to prevent unpleasant cases and to eliminate its results. The world’s most advantageous technologies should be implemented in Azerbaijan. The Ministry of Emergency Situation was provided with modern techniques and conditions for its successful activity. The ministry’s regional branches will also be provided with the equipments of most modern standardsâ€.
Then the head of state became acquainted with the multimedia center of the Ministry of Emergency Situation with modern technical equipments. Ilham Aliyev visited the new assembly hall of the ministry and had a look at the special buses for the crisis management on the accident site.
