President Ilham Aliyev receives world-renowned Azerbaijan-origin scientist Lotfi Zadeh

Baku-APA. Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev has today received world-renowned Azerbaijan-origin mathematician and computer scientist Lotfi Zadeh, who joined the international telecommunications exhibition-conference (Bakutel-2008) in Baku on November 11, the Presidentâ€™s Press Service told APA.
The scientist mentioned that he last visited Baku in 1965 and was impressed by the development of Azerbaijan since then. Lotfi Zadeh highly assessed the achievements gained as a result of attention and care of the President to science and culture.
The Head of State stated that Azerbaijan aimed to develop various spheres of education, science and culture using current opportunities and implementing modern technologies. Aliyev added that one of the priorities of the country is to develop non-oil sector. The President spoke about importance of international telecommunications exhibition-conference (Bakutel-2008) and reminded Azerbaijanâ€™s cooperation with leading international companies on information technology and opportunities of the country on this field.
