APA reports that strategically important Zangilan Region rich in the largest plane-tree forests in Europe, molybdenum, gold, granite and other underground resources was occupied by Armenians on October 29, 1993. 707 sq m- area Zangilan Region had 34,000 people. 188 people were killed and 44 went missing as a result of Armenian aggression. Zangilan is the last occupied region of Azerbaijan. Warning against the occupation prevented much greater massacre in the region.
33,000 Zangilan residents were displaced as a result of Armenian occupation. Ecological terrorism continues in the region. Armenians cut off centuries-old plane trees, misappropriate territories rich in natural resources.
