President of Azerbaijan attends opening ceremony of reconstructed Baku Musical Academy

Baku â€“APA. Baku Musical Academy has been re-opened on September 18 after the reconstruction works there. President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva have attended the opening ceremony. Press service of the President told APA at first the President and First Lady laid flowers in front of the monument of great composer Uzeyir Hajibeyov. Then Azerbaijan State Symphonic Orchestra and State Choir Chapel performed pieces from the Hajibeyovâ€™s â€œKorogluâ€ opera.
President Aliyev has been familiarized with the capital reconstruction works in the building. The head of state highly appreciated the works done there. Then President Aliyev addressed the ceremony at the Academyâ€™s Concert Hall. He said there was development in the cultural field as all other spheres. Reminding about the current reconstruction of cultural buildings, including theaters and museums, as well as historic buildings, the head of state said other cultural facilities would also be reconstructed as Baku Musical Academy. The president said Baku Musical Academy was cultural and educational center. He spoke about the reforms and works in the field of education.
Rector of the Academy Professor Farhad Badalbeyli expressed gratitude for attention and care given to his academy. Speaking about the works done in the field of education and culture, Badalbeyli specially emphasized the role of the president of Heydar Aliyev Foundation, UNESCO and ISESCO Good Will Ambassador and member of the parliament Mehriban Aliyeva.
Then students of Baku Musical Academy and Bulbulâ€™s Secondary Musical School, as well as Italian singer Giuseppe Talamo performed classic pieces of Azerbaijani and world composers.
