WAC co-chairs issue statement condemning Iran’s policy against Azerbaijanis

Baku. Ramil Mammadli –APA. Co-chairs of the World Azerbaijanis Congress (WAC) Sabir Rustamkhanli and Firidun Parvizniya issued joint statement on the rights of arrests of Azerbaijanis in Iran. They criticized the policy of Iran’s government against Azerbaijanis and demanded to release arrested Azerbaijani human rights defenders, WAC press service told APA. “Iran demonstrates intolerance against the human rights and freedoms in the country. Officers of the Iranian special services attacked the Sayyad Mammadian’s house in Tehran during the Iftar dinner in Holy Ramazan and took away nearly 20 activists of Azerbaijani national movement in unknown directionâ€. The WAC co-chairs also condemned intensifying pressure on the Azerbaijani students.
