Baku. Elnur Mammadli – APA. Discussions have begun on establishing new union coordinating opposition parties’ activity after the presidential elections till 2010, chairman of Azerbaijan Democratic Party Serdar Jalaloglu told APA. He said that discussions had already been held with chairman of Musavat Party Isa Gambar and president of Public Forum for Azerbaijan Eldar Namazov.

He noted that the discussions for establishing the union would become intensified soon.
“The opposition had before acted on various stages, it did not produce any results. Now the leading opposition parties are offered to set up a union. The cooperation center established by five organizations in connection with the presidential elections is not a political organization. We are going to set up a political bloc or election bloc,” he said.

Asked whether ADP would join the statement signed by the cooperation center of opposition in connection with the presidential elections, Serdar Jalaloglu said they were not thinking about it.
“We do not want to declare the results of the presidential elections beforehand. On the other hand, despite divergence among the opposition parties, the parties have not cut the cooperation. There is no ground for enmity. Why should we be there, if we do not consider this position right? We consider that cooperation on another level is important,” he said.
