Baku. Parvin Abbasov – APA. Deputy Chairman of Justice Party Elkhan Shukurlu, who couldn’t find his name in the list of nominees for the Central Election Commission, issued a statement and said he didn’t know what steps his party would take in the process of forming the Central Election Commission, APA reports.

He claimed that Justice Party’s seat at CEC is considered to be given to Ogtay Humbatli as it was in the past five years: “The party expresses its political will and this seat was revoked completely when I was nominated”.

Shukurlu said the party’s Chairman Ilyas Ismayilov was not able to weigh with this decision. “If I were Ilyas Ismayilov, I would renounce that mandate and defend the deputy chairman because this was a matter of pride. I wouldn’t sit there where they don’t respect me. What can I do with such seat of parliamentarian?”

He said despite he was not nominated he wouldn’t resign from the party.

Justice Party’s Chairman Ilyas Ismayilov told APA he regretted that Shukurlu was not nominated for the CEC membership. “He could properly be CEC member. I called to the parliament and learned that our seats were given to Ana Vatan Party”.

“I don’t believe that Elkhan can express such ideas. If it is so, I don’t support such maximalist approach of the issue. My refusal of the mandate will not change anything. The people expressed confidence and elected me”, said Ismayilov commenting on Shukurlu’s offer to refuse the mandate.

“There will be secret voting and I don’t know how I will vote”, said Ismayilov.

The parliament hearing on CEC formation will be held on February 22.
