Azerbaijan’s Consul General in Istanbul Hasan Zeynalov told APA that the Ministry of Culture and Tourism sent a note regarding “Chirpinirdin Gara Deniz” song to the Consulate General, and it was sent to the editorial office of Sabah newspaper: “I spoke with one of the officials of the newspaper and expressed the dissatisfaction of the Azerbaijani people. Taking into account our protests, Sabah newspaper published a refutation. I was told that this confusion occurred due to the fact that Azerbaijani is one of the leading languages of the region. We are proud of that the author of another country applied to the Azerbaijani language.”
Zeynalov added that the author of the article acknowledged his mistake: “He didn’t publish our conversation. The main point is that they published the refutation reflecting the truth.”
