The art of Azerbaijani tar performing has been included into the UNESCO Representative List of Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. The Ministry of Culture and Tourism told APA that the next host country and chairmen of the session were traditionally appointed at the end of the session. As a result of the discussions, the 8th Session of the Intergovernmental Committee for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of UNESCO and the 10th anniversary of the Convention for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage were decided to be held in Baku on December 2-8, 2013. The 8th session will be held under presidency of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism. China, Greece, Burkina Faso, Brazil and Egypt were elected as deputy of committee’s chairman. Head of Azerbaijani delegation, Deputy Minister of Tourism and Culture Sevda Mammadova made a speech on a behalf of Azerbaijani government at the session and thanked the UNESCO Secretariat and members of the Committee for supporting our country to host the next session. Following the speech, the film on Azerbaijan has been demonstrated.
