The presentation of Azerbaijani culture with an extensive program continues as part of the “Septembre Musical Montreux–Vevey” festival held in Switzerland, the Ministry of Culture told APA.
It was reported that on September 14, a gala concert featuring representatives of Azerbaijani art was held on the stage of the famous Auditorium Stravinski in Montreux.
The two-part program opened with the “Overture” from Uzeyir Hajibeyli’s opera “Koroghlu.” The work was performed by the Azerbaijan State Symphony Orchestra named after Uzeyir Hajibeyli under the baton of Fuad Ibrahimov.
The orchestra then performed the “Waltz” from Gara Garayev’s ballet “Seven Beauties,” A. Alizade’s “Jangi,” Fikrat Amirov’s “Azerbaijan Capriccio,” Niyazi’s “Concert Waltz,” and the “Dance of the Turkish Girls” from A. Melikov’s ballet “Legend of Love.”
During the evening, Alim Gasimov performed the Azerbaijani folk song “Garagile,” while Fagan Alasgarov (balaban) and Madina Shahgaldiyeva (kamancha) performed the Azerbaijani folk song “Sari Gelin.” The Azerbaijan State Dance Ensemble presented Eldar Mansurov’s “Land of Fire” dance and the Azerbaijani folk dance “Uzundara.”
The soloists – Samir Jafarov (tenor) performed Uzeyir Hajibeyli’s “Sevgili Janan,” Murad Huseynov (piano) performed “Scheherazade’s Celebration” from Fikrat Amirov’s ballet “One Thousand and One Nights,” Yusif Eyvazov (tenor) performed “Balash’s Aria” from Fikrat Amirov’s opera “Sevil,” Afaq Abbasova (soprano) performed Niyazi’s “Arzu,” Jeyla Seyidova and Elvin Hoca Ganiyev (violin) performed Niyazi’s symphonic mugham “Rast,” Elmina Hasanova (mezzo-soprano) performed “Dilbar’s Aria” from Fikrat Amirov’s opera “Sevil,” Ahad Agayev (khananda) performed the “Bayati-Shiraz” mugham, Sevda Alakbarzade performed Isfar Sarabski’s “Jazz Composition” (accompanied by Isfar Sarabski on piano and Shahriyar Imanov on tar), Elmina Hasanova and Samir Jafarov performed the duet of Gulnaz and Asgar from Uzeyir Hajibeyli’s operetta “Arshin Mal Alan,” Shahriyar Imanov performed Hasan Rzayev’s “Chahargah Rhapsody,” and Yusif Eyvazov and Afaq Abbasova performed Tofig Guliyev’s “Song about Baku.”
The gala concert concluded with all the soloists jointly performing Muslim Magomayev’s famous song “Azerbaijan.”
The concert program was met with great interest and applause.
