The United States is not yet lifting restrictions on the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF), said U.S. President Donald Trump during a meeting at the White House with Stephen Hubbard, a previously released American convicted in Russia for participating in combat operations on the side of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, APA reports.
"I'm not lifting it, I'm not doing anything," Trump said, responding to a question about whether he was considering lifting sanctions against the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF). The American leader added that he was "very happy" about Hubbard's release. "Stupid people wanted me to impose sanctions on Russia," Trump added, to which Hubbard remarked that "the Russians laugh at sanctions." "Did you hear that? They laugh at sanctions, he knows," the American leader emphasized.
